Hand Out Green Ribbons
1. Register

2. Prepare for the project
a. Get permission from relevant departments
You will need to ask for permission from the security and parking lot agency departments before distributing the ribbons.
We recommend you seek help from your teachers and lecturers in order to get permission to run the project in other departments in your school.
b. Recruit volunteers:
You can recruit volunteers by motivating club members to participate.
Let your volunteers register their time slots to distribute ribbons (In RMIT, each volunteer register for 1 to 2 slots, each slot lasts 1.5 hour, the length of each slot can vary depending on the amount of work and the number of volunteers in your place).
c. Prepare the ribbons
Cut the ribbon roll into pieces (each about 40 cm long) and burn both ends to avoid fur.
Tools: scissors and lighters (6 to 8 ones each)
After cutting them, put the ribbons into envelopes (20 ribbons/1 envelope/1 volunteer). The purpose of this is to count and control the number of ribbons distributed.
d. Coach the volunteers
Do NOT REQUIRE (or FORCE) the people to receive the ribbons. If the they refuses, thank them and move on. Volunteers will distribute ribbons to students who have finished class AND students who are waiting for class. However, for students who are waiting for class, some of them may be late, so they may not have time for our volunteers.
Give volunteers some sample conversation to speak when they distribute the ribbons. The main purpose of these sample conversations is to help spread Green Ribbon’s message in an accurate and clear way.
3. Run the campaign
Serve free drinks for volunteers
Prepare scissors, lighters, envelopes, and ribbon rolls in case of additional need.
Prepare a list of volunteers to control the number of volunteers participated.
4. After the campaign
Collect feedbacks
